Upload a password-protected PDF, type the password you already know, and download an unprotected copy. This is a known-password removal tool, not a decryption tool: pdf.js opens the document with the password you enter and each page is redrawn as an image inside a new PDF, so the result's text is no longer selectable or searchable. Everything happens in your browser, without uploading the file to any server.
How it works
- Select the protected PDF file from your device.
- Type the document's current password in the corresponding field.
- Click 'Remove password'; pdf.js opens the PDF using that password and renders each page to a high-resolution image (2x scale).
- Those images are inserted, one per page, into a new PDF document with no protection at all.
- Download the result as unlocked-document.pdf.
